Why San Sebastián?
We met at the end of 2017. We said "I love you" for the first time on June 27, 2018, in a vineyard in France. Just days before, we had been falling deeply in love on the beautiful moonlit beaches of San Sebastián, Spain.
When we say "I do," it will be almost ten years since we met and exactly nine years since we first said "I love you." We are so excited to share this magical place that holds such a special place in our hearts.

Your little ones are welcome
This is a family-friendly wedding. We welcome you and your little ones, and they will be included in the wedding celebration.
We will share hotels within walking distance of the venue that offer childcare. We will give you more details as we get closer, but please know that we will make space and create accommodations so that all children are welcome.
Getting there
Nothing here is a wedding arrangement, and no rooms have been reserved on anyone's behalf. It is research about the city, offered so you can book flights and rooms a year out.
There is no direct flight from the US. Almost everyone will connect through Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, or London. Three airports serve San Sebastián, and the one you want depends on where you connect.
Bilbao (BIO)
The workhorse. About an hour and fifteen minutes by car, or the same by direct bus, which runs hourly and costs around 20 euros. The widest choice of flights by far.
Biarritz (BIQ)
Just over the French border and the closest of the three, about forty five minutes by car. Fewer routes, but worth checking if you are already connecting through Paris.
San Sebastián (EAS)
Twenty minutes from the city, though it only handles a handful of domestic routes from Madrid and Barcelona. Lovely if the connection lines up.
Once you are here you will not need a car. The city is compact, the buses are good, and taxis rarely run more than ten euros across town.
Where to stay
Late June is high season and San Sebastián has fewer hotel rooms than you would expect for a city this famous. Nothing below is booked on your behalf, and we will share a room block once it is confirmed. Until then, here is what to budget per room, per night, for two people.

Three nights for two people works out to roughly 700 to 1,050 euros in the middle tier, before breakfast. Budget another 18 to 25 euros per person per day if breakfast is not included, plus a small city tourist tax of a few euros per person per night that you pay at checkout. True triple rooms are rare here, so for three or more people an apartment is usually roomier and cheaper per head.
